INIGO FILM FESTIVAL

DESCRIPTION:

1. The 4 th Iñigo Film Festival (TIFF) and the “Iñigo Awards” are sponsored by the Society of Jesus as represented by the Conference of European Provincials (CEP).
2. The prizes (“Iñigo Awards”) will be awarded to short films on the theme “City of God”.
The maximum length is 20 minutes. The format for submissions must be DVD (region 0, 1 or 2) or Blu-ray (region 0 or 2) in PAL or NTSC. It is expected that these films will successfully integrate their religious, spiritual, and social themes with the resources of film as a modern artistic medium. English subtitles are required for non-English language films.
3. TIFF is world-wide in scope. It is intended for—and limited to—independent young filmmakers. The age limit is 35 (= date of birth 1978 and later).
4. There will be a first prize of 2.500 Euro, with a second and third prize of 1.500 Euro and 1.000 Euro respectively. There will be two additional non-monetary Awards: one to a film chosen by the audience, “The Audience Award”, and “The Fidel Goetz Emerging Film-Maker Award” recognizing the best film by young film makers who do not have access to professional equipment.
5. The winners will be decided by a jury consisting of two representatives from the area of film and new media, and two members of the Society of Jesus.
6. All who enter the competition agree not to contest the jury’s decisions through any legal process. The outcome of the judging procedure for the “Iñigo Awards” is final.
7. All submissions are non-returnable. All materials submitted become the property of the Society of Jesus. Please do not send the original tape or any other original materials.
The sender alone is responsible for postage. The Society of Jesus will not accept shipments on delivery and will not pay duty on shipments requiring it. Rights for Broadcasting and Copyrights:
8. The author or the group submitting a film must have the full right, power and authority to enter it into the film festival (TIFF). The film-maker must have obtained and will maintain during the time of the festival all rights, authorizations, permits, exemptions, consents and licenses covering the film to grant TIFF the broadcast and public performance rights.
9. The author or the group gives permission to the Society of Jesus to use the stills for promoting TIFF and the “Iñigo Awards” in print and electronic media (CD, DVD, Bluray, Internet).
10. The author or the group gives permission to the Society of Jesus for the collecting and viewing of the submitted film in the “TIFF / Iñigo Award” Library.
11. The author or the group gives permission to the Society of Jesus to broadcast up to 3 minutes of the submitted film or using the trailer in order to promote TIFF and the “Iñigo Awards” on radio, television, and the Internet.
12. The author or group gives permission for the Society of Jesus to show the submitted film for the duration of World Youth Day as well as at pre-program publicity screenings.

The Jesuits are pleased again to announce the 4th "Iñigo
Film Festival" for short films at the World Youth Day 2013 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Entries are accepted in the following categories: narrative fiction, animated and documentary on the general theme of ‘City of God’. A wide variety of interpretations of this topic is expected and encouraged.

THE AWARDS

The ‘Iñigo Awards’ will be given to the three best short films.
5000€ IN CASH PRIZE and software.

There will be a first prize of EUR 2.500, with a second and third prize of EUR 1.500 and EUR 1.000 respectively. There will be two additional Awards: one to a film chosen by the audience, “The Audience Award” (non-monetary), and “The Fidel Goetz Emerging Film-Maker Award”, which includes FCP Studio Pro and a stipend for the Festival.

Our 2012 festival was an enormous success and put Taos back on the map as a cinematic destination. We screened over 70 global and regional short films, offered free panel discussions in experimental film, chalkboard animation and Web Episodes. Taos was hopping as we hosted 200 International filmmakers and partied every night till the wee networking hours…

DESCRIPTION: The range of films we screen is diverse and dynamic – Our team is passionate about supporting independent filmmakers in all stages of their careers and we believe in creating positive opportunities wherever possible – showcasing the amazing works of talented creatives to an open, intelligent audience as well as some well connected, highly respected Judges. The festival features an award for the Best Young Australian Filmmaker which is open to Australian Director’s and Producers under 25 and offers young Australian filmmakers reduced entry fees for their films.

All films entered will automatically be considered for nomination in any award categories that the film might qualify for during the selection process. BBFF awards include but are not limited to Best Film, Documentary, Short Film, Drama, Cinematography, Surf Film, Animation, Experimental Film, Environmental Film, Music Video, Best Young Australian Filmmaker (open to Australian Director’s and Producer’s under 25.) & an award for the Best Local Film. MUCH MORE THAN A SCRIPT COMPETITION
